Author
The author is a suitably qualified person that develops the material in the design package, ready to go to the reviewer/approver.
Reviewer
A Reviewer is a suitably qualified person who progressively reviews the output to ensure its appropriateness, correctness of the design, calculations, modelling and the like, throughout the project delivery process. The Reviewer may be the Design Manager or the Discipline lead and should be senior consultants as a minimum. The Review requires, the minimum qualification requirements set out in policy XXX, or at least equililvent to the Author. The Reviewer is to review any design in detail, and may also take on the role as a design support or buddy.
Verifier
A Verifier is an independent person to the project, not involved in or supervising function for the specific part or element of the project verified. They verify that the outputs are appropriate and adequate to meet the functional, contractual and other specified requirements of the Client Brief, Statutory requirements, and the like. The Verifier, verifies the Authors and Reviewers work, processes, design methodologies, detailed calculations if required to ensure quality in the design. For Clarity the Verifier, acts as a Peer Reviewer to the project in accordance with Engineers New Zealand's, guidelines.
Approver
The Approver is the Project Delivery Manager or Design Manager, who approves the documents prior to their formal issue for whatever purpose as per PL033. The person, who approves the project work, ensuring all QA, Policies, Guidelines and quality standards have been meet, and all process have been achieved by the Author, Reviewer and Verifier.
